Procedure detail
FUE and scar revision performed on a 28 year old Caucasian male with:
- Hair loss in hairline and vertex, and scar in right temporal region caused by a car accident
- Donor density of 72-80 FU/cm2
- Hair diameter of 70-80 µm
Treatment plan:
- A Follicular Unit Extraction with 700-900 FU to reconstruct and add
density to the hairline (right side) and vertex (right side)
- Revision of scar in right temporal region in Trichophytic closure technique
- Preparation of the follicular units from the scar strip
Performed procedure (August 8th, 2013):
A Follicular Unit Extraction with 917 FU:
371 single hair FU from scar strip
38 single hair FU from FUE
333 double/triple hair FU from scar strip
175 double/triple hair FU from FUE
Total: 917 FU
Wound closing in 2mm lower edge Trichophytic Closure Technique (double layer suture);
Parallel incisions in custom-sized blades technique (Cutting Edge blades of 0.7mm – 0.9mm).
