Procedure detail
This patient requested surgical restoration of a very
high frontal hairline. The specific goals set by the patient were: 1) to create
a natural, feminine hairline and 2) to improve the appearance of the brows. A
staged repair was planned in which a pretricheal browlift was performed first in
order to advance the existing hairline forward and to improve the shape of the
brows. A trichophytic hairline repair was utilized to encourage hair growth
through the frontal incision line. A staged frontal hairline restoration was
then accomplished with ultra-refined follicular-unit grafting to lower and fully
feminize the hairline. A relatively conservative grafting plan was implemented
to compensate for the reduced vascular supply associated with the browlift /
hairline advancement procedure. The patient was informed that a second session
would be performed a minimum of one year following the first graft session in
order to produce maximum density in the frontal region.
